Production Planner - Plastics Division

At an exciting time in the company’s 100 year history we are looking to recruit an experienced Production Planner for the Plastics Business Unit to help drive continuous improvement and deputise for the Manager when required.

This is a superb opportunity for a highly motivated planning professional with a proven track record who can demonstrate the ability to adapt to business needs.  Reporting to the Planning and Inventory Manager the successful role holder will be responsible for the production schedule of all plastic components, sub-assemblies, finished Products and TD Group supplied componentry in line with machine and assembly capacities meeting customer requirements and satisfaction levels.

The role is predominantly site based however occasional travel may be required to support customers.

 


Your bit… 
 

  • Provide daily / weekly Plans Production in all areas of Plastics to meet Customer orders (Internal and External)
  • Liaise closely with all Production teams to ensure the plan is being adhered through a Plan Adherence measurement
  • Liaise with Sales office, Tool room, M/T, Stores / Warehouse, Despatch, Purchasing, Quality and Engineeringto ensure plan is achievable
  • Pre-empt and react to manufacturing issues as they arise on the shop floor.
  • Manage production schedules ensuring good level of customer service.
  • Assist in the ownership of the System Data base maintaining Bills of Material and Product build structure to ensure compliance with Design and enable standard costs to be established for all build levels
  • Forecast labour requirements
  • Lead and provide support where necessary to all CI activities
  • Provide customer feedback to ensure customer service levels are being met and surpassed
  • Provide business data ensuring it is recorded, analysed and can be reported to senior management relevant to the customer agreement both internal and external
  • Continual evaluation that customer agreement KPI’s are being met / improved upon
  • Generate and maintain KPI metrics; Labour costs by volume and value, Transport costs by volume and value, stock accuracy through perpetual inventory process and outbound OTIF
  • Assist to ensure customer complaints are actioned upon, resolved efficiently and speedily
  • Be part of continuous improvement teams
  • Ensure team members are maintaining a good standard of housekeeping
  • Other duties as may be necessary to fulfil the responsibilities of this position

 
What You Need To Do It… 
 

  • Previous experience minimum 12 months in a similar planning / scheduling role is essential
  • Experience working within injection moulding / assembly related industries would be desirable
  • Excellent IT skills, with advanced Excel knowledge
  • Tenacious, driven and enthusiastic approach with excellent communication skills
  • Flexible, adaptable in difficult circumstances and thrives on change
  • Confident, highly organised with excellent problem solving / analytical capability
  • Continuously strive to achieve results in a deadline driven environment
  • Excellent attention to detail and an eye for accuracy/ strong numeracy skills
  • Previous experience of ERP would be advantageous
